As of 1st August 2025 The Supreme Court published its findings into mis-sold car finance.
Mis-sold car finance claims may not reach the £40BN compensation amount the media has predicted, but it may reach £15-£20BN.
Since several concerned parties have legally challenged an earlier compensation scheme, as of October 2026 the industry is waiting for the Upper Tribunal to decide if the Financial Conduct Authority's compensation scheme is fair. This is expected December 2026 or January 2027. Until then all mis-sold car finance claims will be processed as normal.
